We have reached the last few days of 2021; for me, it’s been a long year. Sadly, this year has been one with few gatherings and less travel. Since we’ve been stuck inside, we’ve been glued to our gadgets, especially our smartphones, to stay connected and updated with the latest news. In this fast-paced world, we need to know and understand the trends as they are documentation of progress that provides us with a sense of direction for a better future.
Many of us use Google Search every day to obtain various information. At the end of the year, Google Trends provide statistics of the trending searches all around the globe. As expected, “Squid Game” was the most searched show. It was kind of surprising to see that most of the top searches are sports-related. Without Google or similar search engines, news and topics from across the globe wouldn’t reach us as quickly as it does with the power of search engines. For example, when writing this article, it took Google a mere 0.41 seconds to return 1.6 billion search results for Google Trends. With speeds like that, topics and trends can travel faster than lightning, and we can stay connected even when we’re far apart.
